Lingua Formula
Educational Technology Platform for Technical Learning and Adaptive Study Systems
2024–Present
Architected and developed a full-stack educational platform designed to improve learning in mathematics, statistics, science, and engineering through active recall, adaptive questioning, and structured conceptual modeling.
Designed a scalable relational data architecture using PostgreSQL to manage interconnected educational entities including courses, lessons, topics, terms, formulas, questions, telemetry events, and exam-reference templates.
Built a production web application using Next.js (TypeScript), Heroku-hosted backend services, and RESTful APIs supporting dynamic lesson delivery, self-testing workflows, and analytics.
Developed a structured JSON import/export pipeline with schema validation for portable educational content deployment across development and production environments.
Implemented telemetry and learning analytics systems to track user engagement, question attempts, lesson progression, and study behavior for pedagogical analysis and platform improvement.
Designed and implemented a block-based lesson authoring system supporting text, mathematical notation, images, inline formative assessment, and mobile-first instructional presentation.
Integrated mathematical rendering technologies including MathJax/KaTeX to support high-quality formula display and symbolic learning workflows.
Created adaptive study tools including:
- inline active-recall questioning
- spaced and repeated exposure workflows
- progress tracking
- exam-reference sheet generation
- customizable study templates
Applied Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility principles, including high-contrast support, image alt-text enforcement, and mobile-friendly instructional layouts.
Developed AI-assisted educational content transformation workflows for converting lecture slides and course materials into structured lesson formats aligned with pedagogical rubrics.
Designed educational models framing formulas as linguistic structures (“formulas as sentences”) to improve symbolic comprehension and conceptual transfer.
Managed deployment architecture and cloud integrations including Vercel, Heroku, PostgreSQL, GitHub CI workflows, DNS configuration, and transactional email infrastructure.
Conducted ongoing research into learning science, cognition, active recall, semantic structure, and human-computer interaction as applied to technical education.
